Midcentury-Modern Bathroom

When the homeowners first moved in, a rushed renovation left them with a space that doesn’t quite fit their style. We're switching up the layout and bringing in some warmth and color to create a space that feels more like them.

Our goal is to keep the existing vanity, mirrors, and countertop as they are new, while still achieving a mid-century modern feel.

The shower and tub are switching places, giving us a much larger shower. For the tub, we’ve opted for a compact Japanese soaking tub. To bring in that mid-century feel, we're adding faux wood beams to the ceiling, which relates to the exposed beams elsewhere in the home. We’ll also be removing the standard 4" vanity backsplash and replacing it with full-height tile. New sconces at the vanity and a pendant light above the tub will bring in more warmth. The color palette and tile shown is just a first pass as we continue to refine the material selections.
